A 36-year-old customer service representative was recently charged with four counts of Level 6 welfare fraud, nine counts of Level 6 perjury, one count of Level 6 Forgery, and two counts of Level 6 felony theft.
The woman was allegedly defrauding Social Security and the welfare program by saying she was single when she was actually married. Facing 18 Level 6 felonies and up to two and a half years in jail for each, she enlisted the help of criminal attorney Sean Hessler. With his assistance, she only received 545 days of probation, alternative misdemeanor sentencing instead of the felonies after completing her probation and paying $7,500 in restitution.
The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
