We recently helped a 19-year-old college student, charged with a third-degree felony for aggravated assault when he was accused of shooting someone. Faced with the possibility of spending between three and 16 years in prison, Defense lawyer Hessler began reviewing the facts in this very serious case.

During an in-depth investigation, it became clear that there were numerous inconsistencies in the timing of the incident and the reliability of the victim’s ID. In addition, we made the prosecution aware of another individual who confessed to the act in question. After several pre-trial hearings to dispute the evidence and admit the confession, the prosecution ultimately dismissed the charges. In the end, a trial was unnecessary and we gave our client the chance to move on with his life.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
