A 30-year-old homeless man was charged with Level 5 fraud in a financial institution, Level 6 felony check fraud, and a Level 6 forgery. Essentially. some men recruited him to cash checks on their behalf. Because of his vulnerable position, he agreed. These charges exposed him to between one and six years in custody. Ultimately, Indianapolis felony lawyer Sean Hessler negotiated to have all the charges reduced to a Level 6 felony for time served with a year of non-reporting probation. Also, as long as he does not commit another crime in that year, the felony will be reduced to a misdemeanor.
